Aseman Lapset ry (Children of the Station, registered association) was founded in 1990 and it is a nation-wide organization. Its members consist of the representatives of the social, health and youth fields, which want to introduce new thinking to the action of how the children's and young peoples' future will be protected. The essential idea is to create a personal and living interaction between the adults and the young.

 

OBJECTIVES

 

The activities of the association aim at preventing children and young people from getting into a vicious circle of intoxicants, crimes or asocial life as well as making this kind of process of development stop as early as possible. In order to realize this objective the association helps children and young people of multiple problems, supports their families and influences authorities and politicians.


The association carries on experiment and research work in order to develop preventative and special youth work, takes part in the discussion which is going about the questions of this field and in the research work and contacts the international organizations of youth work and social field and follows the international development in the field.
The association also carries on publishing activities and arranges training about its field and provides lecturers and teaching materials.

 

INFORMATION

 

About the needs of the children and young people living in the risky circumstances and projects how their living conditions can be developed are informed through ASEMANLAPSET-magazine. Hopefully the magazine will become an active discussion forum with a message in questions concerning family and youth politics.

 

RAISING FUNDS

 

The association collects money for its activities by collections subject to licence. It receives financial aid, donations and testaments. The activities of the association are also supported by Finnish Slot Machine Association. Bankers SAMPO 800013-1010303.

 
COOPERATION

 

The association works closely together with the city of Helsinki and the towns in capital district. Additionally the several organizations and other authorities in the field are central cooperation quarters. Aseman Lapset ry is a member of Central Union for Child Welfare in Finland.
